Spotlight: Our Recent Mywalit Foundation Donations
We’re excited to share two recent donations that embody our mission:
Pelorus Foundation – £800 Donation
Established in 2020, the Pelorus Foundation is dedicated to environmental conservation. Their impactful work in Kenya’s coastal region stands out, especially in areas plagued by overfishing and environmental degradation. Partnering with Oceans Alive Kenya, their mission is to boost marine biodiversity and promote sustainable community incomes in Kilifi County.
One of their pioneering projects involves the Mama Karangas, the local fishmongers. The Mywalit Foundation donation will go towards empowering these women with education about sustainable fishing, the Pelorus Foundation is not only uplifting a community but also contributing to the health of our oceans.
Pump Aid – £1000 Donation
Pump Aid is a beacon of hope in Malawi. Their work revolves around providing clean water, improving sanitation, and driving self-reliance in rural communities. Also, In areas where almost half the water sources are non-functional, Pump Aid steps in to train local entrepreneurs. These individuals are then equipped with the skills to repair and maintain community water pumps, ensuring uninterrupted water supplies.
The Mywalit foundations donation will help towards fostering business development and focusing on women’s empowerment, Pump Aid aims to alleviate the burden on women and girls who often bear the brunt of water scarcity. Moreover, with an impressive track record of supporting over 10,000 communities and touching the lives of 1.5 million people, Pump Aid is making a difference every single day.
